Introduction to certification
WPC (wireless Planning & coordination wing) in India is an organization that regulates wireless regulations in India. All wireless products must be approved by WPC before entering the market. India's frequency band can be divided into two categories: free and not yet open. For the free and open frequency band, such equipment only needs to apply for ETA (equipment type approval) certificate; Other bands that are not free of charge need to apply for a license. Both ETA and license holders must be locally registered companies. Based on CE R & TTE or FCC ID (local Indian Standard), 2G / 3G / 4G needs to be applied by mobile operators.
WPC certification basic information
·Compulsory Certification ·No factory inspection is required ·Sample testing is required, or no sample is required if the RF report of CE can be provided ·Local testing is not required ·Local representatives are needed ·The certification period is 3-4 weeks ·The certificate is valid for a long time
Specifically, any wireless transmission less than 3000 GHz without manual control is considered as "wireless communication" as defined by WPC. These frequency bands are under the control of WPC. That is to say, wireless transmission (e.g. infrared) with frequencies higher than 3000 GHz is not considered "wireless communication". WPC certification does not control these bands. As India has two types of free and non open frequency bands, it is necessary to apply for ETA certificate from WPC for wireless communication products whose frequency band and output power fall within the control range. In addition, the holders of ETA must be locally registered companies. In addition, WPC accepts the RF report of CE report and transfers it to WPC for certification without providing samples and testing.
All wireless devices working in the approved frequency band. The following bands are free: 1.2.40 to 2.4835 GHz 2.5.15 to 5.350 GHz 3.5.725 to 5.825 GHz 4.5.825 to 5.875 GHz 5.402 to 405 MHz 6.865 to 867 MHz 7.26.957 – 27.283 MHz 8.335 MHz for remote control of crane 9.20 to 200 KHz. 10.13.56 MHz 11.433 to 434 MHz
WPC certification requirements
The wireless certification of wireless products in India can be divided into two modes: eta (equipment type of approval) certification and license license license. The judgment basis comes from the working frequency band used by the application equipment. For free open frequency bands such as 13.56 MHz, 433 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.725-5.825 GHz, etc., ETA certification is required; If the equipment uses other non free open frequency band, such as GSM, WCDMA mobile phone, it needs to apply for a license.
For ETA certification, India recognizes the European standard and WPC signs the certificate in the form of audit report. For the license license, it needs to meet the Indian standard requirements.
For ETA application, the product does not need to be sent to India for testing, and the product with R & TTE report can submit approval application to WPC.
Applicable product range
Equipment with a radio transmitter. These include mobile (GSM or WCDMA) mobile phones, wireless local area network (WLAN) devices, such as Wi Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, ZigBee devices, WiMAX devices, RFID devices, contactless smart card readers, and combined with some other RF transmitter products. In addition, only receivers do not require WPC certificates, such as GPS products.
Application process
1. Customers submit samples and data, and apply to ntek; 2. Submit CE red report and relevant documents to WPC (if there is no CE red report, ntek shall be responsible for testing and issue CE red test report); 3. The WPC will issue ETA certificate after it is approved.
Application materials
1. RF test report of products (provided by testing laboratory according to en 300 328 standard); 2. Product technical data sheet; 3. Authorization and agreement of foreign manufacturer.
Certification category
ETA (equipment type of approval) certification: free and open frequency bands, such as 13.56 MHz, 433 MHz, 2.4GHz, 5.725-5.825 GHz, etc; License: non free open frequency band, such as GSM, WCDMA mobile phone. For ETA certification, India recognizes the European standard and WPC signs the certificate in the form of audit report. For the license license, it needs to meet the Indian standard requirements. For ETA application, the product does not need to be sent to India for testing, and the product with R & TTE report can submit approval application to WPC.
