Introduction to certification
Jate (Japan approval Institute for telecommunications equipment) certification is the compliance certification of telecommunication equipment. This certification is aimed at the communication equipment in Japan to ensure that the equipment meets the Japanese "electric communication business law". All wireless products connected to public telephone or telecommunication network must apply for jate certification. Simply put, jate authentication is the network access certification of Japan.
Jate authentication is a compulsory certification for public network telecommunication equipment in Japan. Japan's Ministry of public administration, interior, post and Telecommunications (mphpt) stipulates that Japan's telecommunications equipment shall be subject to compulsory certification in accordance with the telecommunications business law of Japan. Telecommunication business law was established in 1985. Article 68 stipulates that mphpt authorizes qualified agencies to implement the qualification approval of technical conditions.
Mphpt authorizes jate (Japan approval Institute for telecommunications equipment) as a qualified agency to implement conformity recognition. Therefore, we are used to call Japanese telecom equipment certification as jate certification. Jate approval needs to paste the certification mark on the product, and the certification mark uses the serial number. For the approved products, the applicant, product, certification number and other relevant information will be announced in the Official Gazette and the website of jate.
Generally speaking, telecom products entering the Japanese market must meet the test requirements of Japanese telecommunication law (jate certification) and radio wave law (telec certification).

The differences between jate and telec are ：
The scope of control is different: jate certification for communication equipment, telec certification for radio equipment;
Test content is different: jate authentication test signaling interaction test, telec authentication is generally RF test;
Different label characters: the one with't 'character is jate authentication, and the one with' R 'character is telec authentication, as shown in the figure below:
Certification classification
There are two types of jate authentication: 1. The conformity certification of technical conditions ensures that the telephone network equipment, wireless calling equipment, ISDN equipment, leased line equipment, etc. can meet the technical requirements (relevant regulations for terminal equipment) formulated by mphpt.
2. Technical requirements compliance certification Technical requirements conformity certification includes type approval and single machine certification. Technical requirements compliance certification ensures that wireless calling equipment, leased line equipment and other telecommunication equipment can meet certain technical requirements, which are formulated by the telecom operators authorized by mphpt.
