Introduction to certification
IRAM was established in 1935. It is the certification body of electronic technology products recognized by OAA (Argentina accreditation organization - Argentina accreditation organization), and it is also the certification body of compulsory certification products recognized by the government. IRAM safety mark is a mandatory (except for exempted products) certification mark in Argentina.
S-Mark certification basic information

Applicable product range
The Argentine government adopted two new resolutions 197 / 2004 and 198 / 2004, 197 / 2004 allows manufacturers and importers to choose their own certification system. At the end of 2004, the Argentine authorities revised the certification system and published resolution 197 / 2004, and put the plan into practice. Resolution 197 / 2004 applies to the following products: electronic and electrical products, toys, personal protective equipment.
Certification category
Electrical appliance applicants can choose any of the following certification methods:
A mark certification
B type approval
C batch certification
However, 198 / 2004 has compulsory certification requirements for some electrical and electronic products. The agreement 198 / 2004 stipulates that the following products will not be included in the scope of compulsory certification:
-Products with rated current greater than 63A
-Rated voltage less than 50V, using battery power
-Rated power less than 50V, with external power supply (including battery operation)
In addition, the following requirements must be met:
-The power supply must have valid Argentine certification
-The technical parameters or model of the power supply must be indicated in the product manual
-It must be noted in the product manual that it is dangerous to use non specified power supply
But the products below 50V are still compulsory certification requirements
-Use lighting and lighting supply system on 50V AC mains
-Dichroic lamp and lamp holder
-Hand held electric tools
-Electric fence starter
-Electronic muscle stimulator for fitness
Application process

Additional documents Application, authorization of importer, design drawing, specification, circuit diagram and product photo The name plate is printed with the safety warning in Spanish, the manual in Spanish and the factory inspection report of German Rhine The plug conforms to Argentina IRAM 2063 / 2073 standard certificate (if the plug does not meet the Argentine IRAM standard, additional specifications and samples of the power plug shall be provided)
