Introduction to NB

Notify   Body, commonly known as NB institution, is an important technical entity for EU to implement market access management according to the new method directive.

In order to unify and coordinate the third-party certification work, the European community, the European Free Trade Area, cen and CENELEC signed an agreement on the establishment of the European testing and certification authority (EOTC) in Brussels on April 25, 1990. EOTC itself does not issue certificates and marks, nor does it issue inspection reports. Its work is to hold consultative meetings, departmental committees and consultative group meetings, and to organize experience exchange between certification and inspection institutions of various countries. The basis for the unification and coordination of European certification work is the mutual recognition of inspection reports, certificates and marks by certification and inspection bodies. The effective certification systems such as CCA, har, CECC which were advocated by CENELEC before may be incorporated into the EOTC system.  

Third party designated agency

At present, the EC is instructing Member States to appoint certain certification bodies in their countries to fulfill the third certification task required by the directive. These designated agencies are called "notified agencies."   Bodies）。 They must complete the tasks of testing and certification of products according to the standards stipulated in these directives. At present, certification bodies in Europe are striving to become the "notified third party" in China or abroad   Bodies）”。 Generally speaking, the designated agency is an organization that provides conformity assessment services to manufacturers on behalf of the third party under the conditions set by relevant directives within the scope of public interest.  

As mentioned above, the third party designated agency (notify   Body (body) plays an important role in conformity assessment. According to their respective powers, EU Member States shall comply with the requirements of various directives and the principles set out in the Commission's decision (93 / 465 / EEC) (they shall have the technical ability to complete the prescribed conformity assessment procedures and maintain their independence, impartiality and integrity in their work) We should also identify the scope of business in which they can conduct conformity assessment. The professional capacity and work behavior of the designated organization will be subject to regular supervision and inspection by the competent authorities and recognized organizations. Once it no longer meets the requirements or fails to fulfill its obligations, it will be disqualified. Each member state shall inform the European Commission and other member states of the relevant information on the establishment / revocation of designated institutions by itself; The Committee publishes the list of designated institutions in its official gazette and keeps updating.  

NB organization qualification

If there is no NB report, some countries in the EU can not sell the product. The EU needs a qualified certification company designated by them to issue the report. and CE certification In addition to the lowest level products that can be self declared, the certification of most products involving safety and public needs the participation of Nb agencies.
