Basic introduction
According to the Kenyan government decree, the company's importers must obtain the "certificate of conformity" (COC) before they can go through customs clearance procedures with Kenya customs. After the inspection, the original COC certificate will be sent to the exporter by express mail. If it needs to be sent directly to the importer or other people, please specify it in the remarks column of this application form.
Fill in this application form and its attached pages truthfully, correctly and completely, including relevant HS code, ICS code and other information. It is the basic responsibility of the applicant to fill in the commodity description and HS code correctly. If the product description and / or HS code are not correctly filled in, the on-site inspection / testing will not be consistent, thus COC can not be issued. The applicant will still bear the relevant costs and leave a bad credit record. Once the goods are shipped to Kenya, they will also be required by the Kenyan authorities for rectification and fine.
Market access requirements
The Kenya Bureau of standards (kebs) started to implement the pre export standard compliance verification program (PVOC) on September 29, 2005. The products in PVOC catalogue must obtain the certificate of conformity (COC) before shipment and provide them to Kenya Customs upon arrival, otherwise they will not be able to enter the country. If there is no COC, kebs can decide to inspect the goods and impose a fine.
Three application methods
(1) one time customs clearance certificate: Test for 1-2 weeks (if there is ISO9001 certificate, internal test report is not required to be tested), and 3-5 working days for applying for customs clearance certificate. Inspection half a day Customs clearance and inspection fee: FOB × 0.475%≥180USD (2) registration before customs clearance: time: 1-2 weeks for testing, 1-2 weeks for applying for registration certificate, 3-5 working days for applying for customs clearance certificate, and half a day for goods inspection. Within 15 models, 375usd will be charged, and 20USD / model will be added. The registration certificate is valid for one year.
