Introduction to certification
NRTL refers to the national recognized testing laboratory, which is the abbreviation of the English national recognized testing laboratory. The occupational safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the U.S. Department of labor requires that the products used in the workplace must be tested and certified by the national recognized laboratory to ensure the personal safety of users. In North America, manufacturers who legally sell civil or industrial products in the market must strictly test them according to national standards. Only after passing the relevant test of national accreditation Laboratory (NRTL), can the product be legally sold in the market.
The national accreditation testing laboratory (NRTL) is a third-party organization that certifies products for the North American market. NRTL is recognized by the occupational safety and Health Administration (OSHA) according to 29 CFR 1910.7, providing safety testing and certification services for products used in the United States workplace. In Canada, only certification bodies accredited by the Canadian Standards Committee (SCC) can carry out such services.

Application process

The meaning of NRTL
Like China's CCC certification, it is a compulsory safety certification for products sold in North America. However, unlike CCC certification, which is highly mandatory, and there is no unified certification logo, there are only 16 testing laboratories authorized by OSHA. If the manufacturer legally sells civil or industrial products in the market, it must be strictly tested according to the national standards of the United States.
