Introduction to certification
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is the government department of Canada, which is responsible for the supervision and implementation of energy efficiency regulations, which require the minimum energy performance level of various energy consumption products, label energy consumption products, and collect energy use data.
All regulated products imported into Canada for sale or lease or transshipment from a manufacturing province to another region (trans provincial transportation) should meet the requirements of energy efficiency standards under the energy efficiency regulations. As a result, Natural Resources Canada requires all regulated products to obtain energy efficiency certification marks from certification bodies recognized by the Canadian Standards Committee (SCC).
Applicable product range
Washing machine, clothes dryer, dry cleaning machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, ice maker, air conditioner, three-phase induction motor, lamps, TV, power supply, gas water heater, fuel water heater, gas heater, gas fireplace, etc.
Battery charging products will enter the Canadian market after June 13, 2019. Please meet Canada's mandatory NRCan certification and online submission. At the same time, the follow-up certification authority will conduct annual market sampling inspection, and the sampling proportion is about 1% basic model
The requirements and control scope of "minimum energy efficiency standards" for the following 7 categories of products have been enhanced: Electric motor; Domestic gas fired boiler; Domestic kerosene boiler; Dry type transformer; Large scale air conditioning facilities and heat pump; Commercial integrated refrigerator; Incandescent lamp with reflector; New requirements for the following minimum energy efficiency standards and reporting items are proposed: Standby energy consumption of electronic products -Audio products -TV, monitor, etc -Video playing Products External power supply Digital TV adapter Electric boiler Single stereo air conditioning and heat pump Mandatory directives for producers and importers
All producers and importers must comply with the directive to ensure that the products produced and imported meet the minimum energy efficiency standards required by the directive. Manufacturers and importers shall pass the test conducted by the recognized third-party certification body to obtain the compliance energy efficiency report and certificate.
