The Malaysian government stipulates that suppliers should apply for product certification if the products are regularly transported to Malaysia. In 1998, Malaysia promulgated a new "communications and multimedia Act 1998", which specifies in detail the access conditions of Malaysia's telecommunication service and communication market.

At the same time, Malaysia communications and Multimedia Commission (CMC) was born.

According to the law of communication and multimedia, when the communication equipment is put on the market, it is necessary to apply to CMC or the certification authority designated by CMC for type approval and obtain the equipment certification certificate and certification mark.

The communication equipment testing section (CETs) under the jurisdiction of SIRIM is responsible for the specific certification of communication equipment type approval.

SIRIM is the only certification authority in Malaysia. All electronic products entering Malaysia need to apply for SIRIM certification certificate. In principle, the applicant should be a local institution in Malaysia. SIRIM QAS international is responsible for the application and management of SIRIM certification, which issues the SIRIM certificate.

Factory inspection requirements

The first factory inspection must comply with the product certification system. Once it meets the requirements, a certificate will be issued. The certificate is valid for one year. In order to ensure the renewal of the certificate, the annual inspection must carry out market supervision; Complaints and complaints of NCB shall be submitted in writing to the general manager of SIRIM QAS certification and Inspection Services Department.
