basic introduction
Vietnam’s MIC department issued an announcement in early 2016 stating that from October 1 this year, all lithium batteries, including independently sold and used in terminal products (notebooks, tablets, mobile phones, etc.) will require a DOC certificate (standard number: QCVN 101:2006/BTTTT). The above products will also be required to provide battery DoC when doing Vietnam MIC certification.
On July 4, 2016, the MIC department considered that the cycle of product testing and certification was too long, and battery manufacturers did not have enough time to meet the certification requirements, and issued a notice again: postponing the implementation of the mandatory certification date for battery products to April 1, 2017 .
The following is the notice of Vietnam MIC postponing the implementation of compulsory certification of battery products: The Ministry of Information and Communications of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MIC) implements mandatory TCVN/TCN standards for electromagnetic interference and communication products of information products. The electromagnetic interference part can be applied for by the local supplier in the form of self-declaration, and finally approved by the Ministry of Information, the product can be sold on the Vietnamese market. The IEC testing standards corresponding to Vietnam’s battery certification regulations QCVN 101:2016/BTTTT are IEC61960 (2011)  and IEC62133 (2012). [Note: These two standards must be met at the same time to meet the QCVN standards. 】

The specific process of applying for MIC certification
1) The manufacturer provides the product specification, the laboratory confirms the quotation, and the two parties sign a cooperation contract. 2) The application needs to submit materials: samples, product specifications, circuit diagrams, block diagrams, operation descriptions, BOM, key component certificates, application forms and other materials. 3) After all the materials are collected, the laboratory officially starts the certification project and arranges testing. 4) A test report and certificate will be issued after the test is completed. 5) Normal test cycle: 2-3 weeks.
